Low Speed Operations
Glinz, Jan ; Daněk, Vladimír (referee) ; Šošovička, Róbert (advisor)
This thesis explains the problems of low speed operations. It aims at stall speed, calculating the stall speed and factors affecting the stall speed. One chapter is about stall warning and safety devices. Another chapter deals with influence of the low speed operations at airplane and the way to piloting it.
Wind shear as a dangerous fenomenon in aviation
Novozámský, Adam ; Jebáček, Ivo (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This thesis is about wind shear and its influence on aviation. There is wide theoretical description of wind shear and it’s implemented into aviation practice. There are also methods of observation, forecasting and reporting, for both pilots and meteorologist described. In this thesis, pilots can find useful recommendations for dealing with wind shear during the flight. Every reader can also read about famous aviation accidents and look at models of weather that caused those accidents. At the end of thesis there are analyses of a rawiosonde measurements related to wind shear reports. This whole thesis is focused on increasing awareness of wind shear in aviation from angle of view of both pilots and aviation meteorologist.
Characteristics of atmospheric convective environment
Keprtová, Pavlína ; Řezáčová, Daniela (advisor) ; Žák, Michal (referee)
The quality of convective precipitation and storm prediction is dependent on the level of knowledge of the convective environment. Convective environment characteristics describe various conditions in the atmosphere which are suitable for the convective storm formation and evolution. The characteristics CAPE, wind shear S01, S03 and S06 were selected for the discussion of their properties and predictive ability. This master thesis deals with the CAPE and S0X values analysis in the Czech Republic during the period May-August 2005-2011. Furthermore it analyzes the distribution of the combined characteristics CAPE × S0X and index NDSEV, especially in the critical interval of values which indicate a storm occurrence. It also deals with the estimation of relationship between NDSEV index and the heavy precipitation occurrence in the Czech Republic. The verification criterion CSI was applied to the evaluation of various threshold values for the NDSEV index.
